Check out David Cuthbert’s great review of Bad Seed in The Times-Picayune
You loved the movie, now see the play that started it all! The devil wears pigtails in Bad Seed, a horrific, hilarious tale about the most terrifying enfant terrible ever to grace stage or screen. The high-camp Halloween hijinks kick off Friday, October 8 and run through Sunday, October 31, 2004 at Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Avenue.
Flynn De Marco plays eight-year-old Rhoda Penmark, a pinafored picture of perfection whose pernicious pedigree is revealed by her lushy, mushy mother, Christine (Brian Peterson). Can anyone put a stop to Rhoda’s sinister scheming before it’s too late? Perhaps her clueless, smarmy, generally absent father, Kenneth (Jack Long)? The nosy landlady from downstairs (Dorian Rush)? Rhoda’s persnickety, spinstery schoolteacher (Elizabeth Pearce)? The mentally handicapped handyman (Jim Jeske)? Or—least likely of all, but you never know—the neighborhood’s harried, hooched-up harridan, Mrs. Daigle (Bianca del Rio)? Tune in this October to find out—and please, don’t give away the startling surprise ending!
Bad Seed was written by Maxwell Anderson, based on a novel by William March. Bad Seed runs from Friday, October 1 – Sunday, October 31, 2004 at Le Chat Noir, located at 715 St. Charles Avenue. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 5:00pm. Tickets are $17 (plus $6 drink min.) and may be reserved at 504 581 5812.
